Seclusion

On days like this it is always nice to know that I have a peaceful place to come home to. Why is it that it is so easy to take things that are not necessary personnel and make them personnel, and as a result become depressed by them?

You had my day yesterday!

Seriously, it's odd how we let that which is essentially temporal affect our perspective (which should be eternal). I often realize that Paul's admonitions about how we are to live make sense only the context that we are looking towards the City of God, a member of the Kingdom of Christ, infused by the Holy Spirit. Christians are to have joy and contentment about this life because, in the end, this is not all there is.

As in Titus 3: 1-2, how can we obey, be ready for every good work, speak evil of no-one, be peaceable to all, gentle, showing humility to all men (That's the rub for me!) unless God's spirit assists us and we realize that what we are up against is, in the end, merely moonlight and ash which will be blown away upon the dawning of eternity?
